Capital Formation

Access to capital and the ability to secure traditional financing is a dilemma that has plagued urban communities for decades. Divestiture by mainstream businesses, as well as financial institutions, have made it virtually impossible for individuals or businesses to survive let along thrive.

Our organization focuses on non traditional finance methods to promote our economic and business development projects.  Venture Capital, Crowd Funding, ROSCA's, REIT's are all a part of the UEDC arsenol when we consider funding.

STEM Resource Center

In recognition of the 50th anniversary of their graduation the Scotlandville HS Class of 1972, has launched a project to create a STEM Resource Center in Scotlandville.  UEDC is excited to partner with the group to help in this effort, which we believe is essential to sustainable community building.

Please give generously to support this worthwhile and worthy cause.  Any amount you give is tax deductible and very much appreciated.

2

Community Engagement

At UEDC we believe that and educated constituent is our most important alley.  Of all the stakeholders involved in community revitalization those with the greatest vested interest are those living in these neighborhoods.  Bringing together every component of the community is what we do!

From support in the formation of community organizations, to identifying resources needed to create an overlay district, we can help communities build the type of coalition's needed to expand services, engage government and create change!

3

Economic Development

No matter how you slice it, at the root of urban decay is a lack of opportunity.  The opportunity to own a home or business, to have hopes of steady employment, consistent health and child care.  These are all thing that cannot be expected if one lives in an urban community. Case studies have shown that divesture in urban neighborhoods by local and regional grocers, manufacture's, tradesmen and labors have decimated what were once stable thriving neighborhoods.

Our goal is to reintroduce both business and industry back into these communities.  Through both foreign and domestic partnerships and creative development strategies, we will build our community just as other's have built theirs, one business, one employer, one industry at a time.
